Below are our Aims and Objectives and Our Resident's Guaranteed Rights.  

  • Bertinaley Care understands that moving from one's own home into residential care is an extremely difficult decision to make.
  • We understand the reluctance to make the move, the uncertainty of what lies ahead and the fear of the unknown, and appreciates that these are all genuine and understandable concerns.
  • We are acutely aware of these problems and with high levels of experience and training, we aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for all residents, relatives and friends. 


We simply aim to provide you with a home from home


  • To deliver a service of the highest quality that will improve and sustain the service users overall quality of life. In this respect the care service is designed to meet the requirements of a recognised accredited quality standard, but in a people orientated fashion.
  • To ensure that the care delivered is flexible, attentive, and in a non-discriminatory fashion while respecting each service user's right to independence, privacy, dignity, fulfilment and the rights to make informed choices that take risks.
  • To ensure that each service user's needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, political affiliation, marital status, parenthood and disability or impairment.
  • To ensure the service on the whole is delivered in accordance with agreed contracts of care. 
  • To manage and implement a formal programme of staff planning, selection, recruitment, training and personal development to enable service user care needs to be met.
  • To manage the care service effectively and efficiently to make the best use of resources and to maximise value for money for the service user.
  • To ensure all service users receive written information on the home's procedure for handling complaints, comments and compliments and how to use it. 



Our Resident's Guaranteed Rights 


All of our residents have the right to:


Privacy: The right of every resident to be left alone or undisturbed and free from intrusion or public attention into their affairs


Choice: The right of every resident to select freely from a range of options.


Rights: The right of every resident to entitlements associated with citizenship of our free society.


Fulfilment: The right of every resident to realise personal aspirations, abilities and social potential.


Dignity: The right of every resident to be treated as a valued member of society, regardless of their present circumstances and be treated with respect.


Independence: The right of every resident to peacefully act and think without reference to another person, even if a small degree of calculated risk is involved.
