Testimonials

My wife has been a resident here since Nov 2010. I found it difficult to come to terms with her dementia but the home has given me great support in coping and the confidence that my wife is receiving the best care possible. It is a big relief to know that my wife's care, physically and mentally, are totally taken care of by the very attentive and supportive staff. The home is spotlessly clean and the food is more than adequate. This is a home with a homely feel, it does not feel like an institution - J Donnelly (Husband).
My mother is warm, well fed and well looked after. She is happier now than she was in hospital. I have peace of mind - G MacPherson (Son).
My mother has been a resident in this home for 6 years. She is being well looked after and appears to be very happy. This gives my father and our family peace of mind - Gordon (Son).
Duchess Nina is a very warm, welcoming and loving home. Over the years, this hidden gem despite it being a touch tired at the edges, I have honestly noticed a dramatic improvment in its environment, they now have more en suite rooms. The ambiance is truly, cheerful, peaceful and thoughtful... away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town centre. What surprises me the most is that despite it being a nursing home the home is still very clean and free from odors. There always appears to be activities for the residents on offer which is great. The manager and staff are very friendly indeed... I couldn't recommend Duchess Nina enough!!! What I also very much appreciate about Duchess Nina is that it is really small and homely...truly a home from home! So staff can get to know the residents really well which understandably can be sometimes difficult in much larger care homes. But what really endears me to Duchess Nina the most is that there are always the same cheerful staff which surely must be good for the residents and I would never turn down the opportunity to have a slice of their home baked cake and cup of tea! I would definitely place my parents in this home without a doubt in the future as the care is brilliant. Regular Visitor to Duchess Nina - Visitor.
Firstly. the facility is clean, well staffed and odour free. Decor is modern. Heat is ample plus. Management are firm but fair. Compassion by some staff is exemplary. - Peter D (Partner)
Very good care, clean, friendly. It is our first experience of a nursing home and has been a very good experience for my aunt and family. As she has Parkinson's and dementia. She is treated with dignity and respect. Home baking is excellent - Moira L (Niece)
Everything is perfect! Nothing to add. - Richard W (Son)
My father was a resident in Duchess Nina for only a few months due to his advancing dementia and increasing fraility. During this time my family felt his care was very good. Clearly most of the staff were hard-working, kind and compassionate given the hard job they had to do. - Ann M (Daughter)
